AMUSIE is a melodic power metal band comprised of four practicing medical doctors from Nagoya, Japan.
Their unique sound combines the raw emotion cultivated in the medical field, where they deal with human lives daily, with the overwhelming speed and melodic beauty of heavy metal. Formed in 2011, the band continues to perform music on an irregular basis alongside their clinical work, releasing a self-produced album in 2014. Since then, they have honed their skills through live performances, including supporting international metal bands like Norway's Circus Maximus at their Nagoya shows. After a long career, they released their debut album, "Heavy Metal Doctors," on Rubicon Music in 2023. Mixing and mastering by European metal master Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, In Flames, HammerFall, etc.), the band's sound is world-class, with the sharpness and depth of European metal. That same year, they embarked on a record release tour in Tokyo and Nagoya, demonstrating their undeniable presence with their powerful live performances. They continued to balance their work as clinicians with their musical careers, including supporting international artists like the American band Seven Spires on their Japan tours. These experiences led to the completion of the EP "Rapid Resuscitation." As the title, which has the dual meanings of "high speed" and "resuscitation," suggests, this work combines re-recordings of early tracks with the speed that characterizes AMUSIE today. Following on from their previous album, the mix and mastering were handled by Fredrik Nordström, further enhancing the band's sense of speed, melodic beauty, and profound depth. As doctors, they care about human life, and as musicians, they pour their souls into their music. Armed with the urgency and drive born from this balance, AMUSIE continues to explore new possibilities in melodic metal.
